The texts collected in this book seek to retrace the two sides of Patočka's research. On the one hand, his phenomenological philosophy, that express in a new way the relationship between "natural world" and historical development, the relationship between the genesis of the ego and the belonging to a world in common. On the other hand, the ethical and political reflection of Jan Patočka, a reflection that holds together the question of a common origin - the care of the soul in ancient Greece - with the prophetic announcement of a post-European era of global interdependence.
