dc.descriptionNumerous lines of evidence indicate that the matter content of the Universe is dominated by some unseen component. Determining the nature of this Dark Matter is one of the most important problems in cosmology. Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) are widely considered to be one of the best candidates which may comprise the Dark Matter. A brief overview of the different methods being used to search for WIMP Dark Matter is given, focusing on the technologies of several benchmark experiments.
